Old Stick Phone

After around 20 years laying in a drawer I decided to have a second look at this old telephone.
I got it of a then friend who imported such things in a container from England.
There in no identification of any kind on the phone and I did a quick search on the Internet without finding anything similar.
Any clues as to the brand name and age?.
I would say that the phone has been chromed at a later date, and the 'image' inserted.
The wiring was in a bit of a mess, but I managed to sort it out. It is now in working order.

I don't know much about this phone but I saw a mate for it at a local recycling center that has the same picture on the dial but the pic is bad it was taken in a dark room on my mobile phone I will try to get a better pic tomorrow when they are open my wife works there so it was all closed up while I was picking her up today.

Stick Phone

That's great.
I spent some more time on the web searching for a similar one to mine.
The closest one to mine was an "American Electric dial candle stick with early Automatic Mercedes" Automatic Mercedes refers to the dial.

I think a friends mother had one similar many years ago , I thought it was a copy at the time as the chrome just didn't look right ?

Maybe it was an old phone?
