Aloha from Hawaii

Hi all.

We just had to post these as our Astronomy Teacher to Hawaii comes to an end. Yesterday we experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity of a personalised tour through the Gemini North Telescope on Mauna Kea at an altitude of nearly 14000 feet.

After the tour we wandered around some of the other scopes including the Keck Telescopes. It was a bit like Astrofest during the day - only much bigger.

We can't stop grinning and we are not really trying to either.

Unbelievable.

Hi Paul, weather has been slightly cloudy but when you are up Mauna Kea the clouds are all below you.

Pretty classy pair aren't we.

Just been surfing and swimming with turtles etc out beside the hotel. It's pretty aweful.

See you soon.

He he, Ron, we are having a fantastic time.

We leave tomorrow morning (Saturday) and get back to Sydney on Sunday night and catch the Monday morning flight back to the Sunshine Coast so that we can teach for the day.

We are going to teach in full Hawaiian kit - Aloha shirts, shell necklaces etc. I think that the kids are going to see a lot of shots of Hawaii in each lesson.
