good one.

how hard is it to be patient with this bright object?

you go out there knowing full and well it is too low in the atmosphere, but still after doing saturn, you think " a quick peek at jupiter" and whilst looking at at the blob, out pop the bands a few times. well ok a quick set of images....... and guess what there is no major detail.

i keep finding myself thinking that this will be the last time i will see the planet and i simply must try and keep imaging or viewing no matter what the conditions. I can't take myself to bed and wait till later this year!!!

addiction??????

Yes the king is very hard to get detail out of. The seeing this morning was shocking. I have several AVI's that show some detail, but when processed are real crap. Funny how there was no jet stream and yet the seeing was still only about 2/10. Seeing this morning was around 3/10. Keep plodding along. Jupiter is the best to image in my opinion but does take a lot of practice to get large scale with detail present.

Yes Davo....It's a bit like death before dishonour with being addicted to this. When I'm out there shooting it's my last day on earth & I must...repeat MUST get a GOOD image or die trying!!....In which case I've died plenty of times! Not many GOOD images coming out of the asimov camp unfortunately.

I'm a bit like Asi and DP, must image no matter what the conditions even when I know it's banging my head up against a shimmery messy brick wall - just tell myself it's good practice for those rare nights that come along when you least expect them...

Anyway Asi, you'v got the bands and a little detail in one of 'em there so well done. It's not even above my tree-line yet to give a go.

cheers,
