An Inner Sanctum

Nature invites you to her inner sanctuary; a place of grace and majesty.

Great Otway National Park, Victoria.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
2s f/16.0 at 33.0mm iso250

Slightly bigger version here.

Comments, critique, most welcome.

Just wonderful H, simply stunning. You are really nailing that soft 'painting' look lately, and the composition in this one is great!
The foreground fern in the bottom left seems to have moved, do you have any tricks to deal with that or you don't mind? I find the foliage moves quite often when I try long exposure shots, especially around waterfalls.

Another beauty Humayun. It's always better to get down at the creek level I think, to capture the mood of a cascade as you do. I often do searches on the net for waterfalls and a great many are from the tourist fenced lookout and just feel very fast-food-snapshottish.

Every waterfall image I have seen you post has this intimate, magical feel to it.

Great work mate. Keep it up!

Baz.

Lovely image H.

After a very busy morning, just viewing that has put me in a nicely relaxed frame of mind to enjoy my lunch.

Cheers

Just stunning H, most enjoyable.

Your at the level now where presentation counts. It would be nice to click on a large hi res link and get a full screen view straight up (or a selection of sizes), small point.

Would have moved the warterfall a wee left. Beautiful scene - great colour balance. Was there a glass of cool white wine in your left had to match?

Jeanette,

Absolutely! Thank you. : )

Rolf,

Thanking you, mate.

The painting look is purely the result of the light and the mist that was lingering down there. Some people don't like it, but, it's what I'm striving for.

Pity about the movement in the fern. Not really much I can do unless I took a faster exposure and somehow blended it in. You're right, foliage moves around uncontrollably around waterfalls. It's a pain. Just makes you try and recompose without any moving elements.

Carl,

They're in there, hiding, once again. ; )

Cheers!

Barry,

Thank you. Sometimes you come across waterfalls that have been done a million times before, and, there is no way to cross that fence. I consider it a challenge to present in a way that others haven't. It's what keeps me going.

Cheers!

Fred,

Soon, Fred. Soon. These web space user pages will be a thing of the past in the next few days.

I won't go into all the detail about why I don't offer large resolution images of my landscapes, suffice it to say that if people wish to see larger versions, then, they can pay me to buy a print. Viewing images on screen is balls. Seriously.

Ian,

I have a vertical presentation which fulfils the constructive critique you've mentioned. Will post that as I have time to process it.

No, no wine. Just a tripod, camera bag, camera, filters and remote cable release. lol.
