First Light Sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro

Finally had my new Macro lense delivered yesterday. After a few fiddling test shots I decided to to take a coupla shots from the bunch of flowers I purchased for my beloved yesterday.
First shot details
Canon 400d with Sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro and 270 EX Speedlite Flash.
1/4 sec at f20

Second Shot details
As above but 1/3 sec

Very new to this caper but I was pleased with these initial results.

Sweet lens!
Now put reversed 50mm in front of it for even higher magnification...

Indeed it's a sweet lens. Great "first lights".

I know the depth of field is very shallow, but you will get sharper shots if you shoot around f/11. Diffraction softening comes into play from f/16 or so.
