Night & Day

Well, there are severe bush fires in this neck of the woods so no follow up imaging will happen tonight!

I have attached a new Venus IR image here showing the true appearance of the lit side next to the 1um infrared view of the night side to give some proportion to the view entire of the entire planet.

thanks Steve, that puts it nicely in perspective - wouldn't mind a go at Venus myself, but the western horizon here is shot with trees

Excellent work Steve, it's great to see them both in the same shot, really puts it in perspective.

What camera are you using, and what were the exposure times?

Mike

Sorry mate, I thought I'd responded to this on the earlier thread. The camera is a Mintron 12V1C-EX using exposure time approx 0.5 sec. Telescope 10" @ f10.
