Lagoon and Trifid wide field with some colour

I managed to capture a couple of hours of OIII to add to the 2 hrs of Ha I had already captured.

I combined it using a synthesised Green channel of 60% OIII.
I need to capture some RGB for the stars but again the cloud has blown in so it might have to wait a while.

This combination is (Ha Ha OIII 60% OIII 100%) as LRGB.

Captured with Atik 11002M and Baader NB filters.

Comments welcomed.

There certainly is a lot more to this region than meets the eye...or the telescope for that matter. Great job on showing the areas outside what most of us focus on Doug.

Very contrasty Doug, perhaps a little red weighted?

Actually, Doug, I like what NB does for stars. RGB tends to make them too bloated and colourful when they really should look like what you have there..."salt n pepper" like with a just a few of the really bright ones showing a bit of colour. Remember, the light you see from any star is mostly white, no matter what spectral class they are.

A very vivid image, I like it. Your best work so far. One of a stream of many to come with this wonderful new setup you have. Your work has taken a big step upwards.

Holy crap, Doug.

That is sensational!

One suggestion, if I may? Just a touch little sharpening in the dark nebulae within M8 and M20? Just a touch of softening might help to even out the otherwise magnificent composition.

I love it!

Very striking, almost dangerous looking with the vivid reds.
Good FOV & I think the stars are fine as is, nice work Doug.

Looks like a giant footprint with a few toes missing...wonder if he's been playing with fireworks?

Oh my. That's really whetting our appetites for the remainder and final to come. Looking sensational. As commented before, awesome framing/composition on this one.

Thats impressive Doug, very flourescent. A link to a decent size would do the 11k justice though.

Brilliant Doug. Certainly your very best

We agree with other comments that it's a little oversaturated the red maybe needs desaturation by about 10. But this is just a suggestion not a big issue.

Once again superb image and can't wait for your next subject.

We're very envious of your super duper camera

PS - Just checked out the full res amaaaaaaaaaaazing detail
