Anyone care to join me???
I'm off on Friday, caravan packed with all my gear to a little known Huck Finn town called Lawrence on the Clarence River 32 Klm's from Grafton NSW. It's a top spot for dark skies and Christmas promises no moon to speak of, just a vista of Milky way hopefully, dang clouds better stay away. Staying on parents property which has near 360 deg views to the horizon and very little sky glow from anything but shooting stars and nebula. The only down side is this site often produces dew by midnight due to river moisture near by, but I have perfected my home made dew heaters (I will post more on these soon in the equipment DIY section) so I am prepared.

Cheers Dennis. I'd love to be able to join you but it is the silly season and there is no way I'm going out on the roads over xmas. I'll just have to settle for the local sky line.
