Venus, Tuesday 8pm

Grabbed a few thousand frames of Venus through the heat shimmer just after sunset.

10" f/6 newtonian @ f/48 via 5x powermate + extension
Lumenera LU075M camera
2000 frames stacked out of 6000
Exposure 2ms, 30fps
Red Astronomik filter

Image has not been resized - this is the "real" size!

That is probably the finest Venus pic I have ever seen!

Know what you mean Bird.. I've often wondered how cool it would be to get a view of the nearest terrestrial world without the white cloak. Wow 50 arcseconds of detail! It would also be great if we had a full rotation view of the Moon for that matter!

you knocked off asimov's as the best i have seen. Both of yours are lovely and sharp.

through heat shimmer you say,

i have to shoot this over my own roof, so i will give it a go as well if lots of frames clean it up
