I think you'll find if you sorted this, the extensions on the PN will become more obvious and the image as a whole might be easier to process.

Background is clipped because I did the colour under a full moon, they had horrid gradients. If you take out the Luminance channel it's not clipped, but the histogram defaults to the RGB, which I don't really care about, the bits between the stars are black, so I just make them black.
Attached is a histogram of the underlying luminanace image.
The 8 bit jpeg can also turn out clipped as the dynamic range is compressed. I can't do much about that though.
The line on the LHS is from a bit of a mismatch between the two luminance layers, I should just crop it out?
Not sure about the extensions, 15 minute Ha exposures should have brought them out, they are very faint though.
