Televue 76 (TV76) or other small Refractor

Wanted - Televue 76 but will also consider ANY other good quality small refractor for example Televue Pronto, TV85, William Optics 80-90, Vixen etc. I am open to all suggestions - what I am primarily after is something which provides good quality opitics and is also portable. Please send me a PM if you have something you would consider selling.

I am very appreciative of all offers but I would be especially grateful if the asking price for any scope on offer is stated from the outset.

I am open to suggestions and will consider ANY scope - I am simply after something that is very portable with good quality optics.

In response to an inquiry and for clarification I am ideally after something with 70mm (minimum) aperture and up 90mm maximum (approx).

In response to another question - Yes - I would also be interested in a small TMB (eg 80, 92) or Tak if anyone has one they might like to sell. I am simply after a small good quality refractor that is portable.

TV-60 not too badly priced at BINTEL. Suberb 'scope capable of 180x with 2-4 Nagler Zoom and 4.3deg with 24mm Panoptic. All you need is a quality 1.25" diagonal (60deg Everbrite would be nice but check with Tele Vue that it does not take up too much travel). The 'scope is very small 254mm long (OTA). Note there is also a TV-60is but is double the price and aimed for imaging.

Hi Astro,

I really appreciate the suggestion and you have certainly given me some good food for thought but before I explore the retail options I really want to have a punt and see whether I can find anything 2nd hand.

In this respect a TV76 is only one option and my mind is really open to any scope irrespective of brand.

As I posted before I am simply after something that is portable with good quality optics - beyond these two criteria I will consider anything someone might be thinking about selling. I am not fussed on how old it may be either provided it is simply still in good condition.

Again I appreciate some of the suggestions received but I think 90mm aperture is as large as I want to go in terms of a small refractor.

Ironically, I have been very impressed by the capabilities of some of the super small refractors such as the TAK FS-60C - so if anyone has one which they are minded to sell please let me know.

I should have clarified this point earlier but I have had two bad experiences in the past with 2nd hand astro gear which was represented in a manner not congruent with the actual condition of the items once they arrived. Consequently, I would prefer to buy locally which I can inspect before payment - or - buy on a COD basis.

Once again - I am simply after a small refractor with good quality optics - open to all suggestions.

In response to an inquiry - I have no preference for either a doublet or triplet. I am just after a small portable refractor with good quality optics - Televue, Tak, WO, TMB etc
