Yes, he is a legend. Greatest bowler and one of the best players of all time. Also legendary for his off field exploits. As Ignaisus Jones once said," Your're a winner if your remembered for everything you do". Warne is certainly all that. I hope he plays on for another 3-5 years yet.
I've been watching/playing cricket for 35 odd years, and he's the best I've ever seen, and probably the best I'm likely to see. He's as good now as he's ever been. Can't wait for the 2nd dig...........should be good for Warne
Shame he was denied a chance at captiancy, off field actions aside he has a great tactical sense of the game and would have been a bold and pro-active captain.
Wouldn't you love to hit the South African Bowler "Nel" out of the ball park 6 times in a over....what an attitude he has....we should be the only team allowed to sledge....hehe
Stuart you are right, his off field performances have resulted in his loss of captaincy. Still who wants to be captain anyway. You get out more often, get less runs, have the media pour over you life and performance......He might as well be captain, he has all that going on now.
He might be a rascal, but at least he is a true Aussie.
I think he would thrive on the limelight and i doubt it would affect his performance , that last over in the 99 world cup where South Africa nearly scrapped over is the higlight for me with Warne bowling
Nah, his ability to bowl the stumps over through or around someones legs (ie Gatting) and more recently is my number one thing I like about him. I can remember the night I saw him bowl Mike Gatting many years ago, and the look on his face of "What the?" Totally unexpected.
