M8 from Cambroon

2nd light for the RC8!
Short but sweet, 7x5min, manually guided.
Poorly framed and focussed, but it can only improve from here.
5 @ iso800
2 @ iso1600
Darks taken, no flats.
Stacked in DSS and processed in both CS3 and PSP.

Well done Jeanette. The little RC is something different from the wider field scopes and takes a bit more work but you seem to be grasping it better than I am. Focus needs work but you already know that. More exposure better focus and you will be laughing.

love the shot JJJ.
Made me Jealous

upfront apologise for this but i ran it through Pixinsight to perform Dynamic Background Extraction to remove the gradient and some secret herbs and spices (didnt do much as it is a great shot) hope you think it helped - i did not change your colours.

Cheers Dave. I don't mind at all.
I've been trying to reproduce the effect in CS3.
Trevor the image has been cropped and rotated. Here's what it looks like straight out of DSS. I'll be needing to take care with my framing.

Thier is a tracking issue apparent on the left hand side of the image with egg shaped stars (see attached) although could be focuser sag which is indicative of the RC8 if you are using a stock focuser

By the way could you please PM me instructions on how Loreal works, thanks

Nice start with the RC8 JJJ. It's great to see you kicking a goal early in the narrow field game!

Your not turning into a manual guiding advocate perhaps JJJ?
Nice Lagoon for the RC. How was Cambroon last night?

Nice start with the new gear. As mentioned it appears the focuser has some sag causing the "coma" in the bottom left corner. Screw adapters may help with that.

What is the problem you are having with autoguiding?
I may be able to advise.

Greg.
