Not fussed about the core, but what caught my attention was the excellent detail outside the central region, you dont often see it that good. In fact its inspired me for my next mega project, the area to the left bottom. An unusual sparkling hi contrast image Enrique, top work , the 14" RCX has done you well .

Very well done with plenty of interesting detail and strong colours for a OSC, the only thing I can fault is the dark halos around the blue stars. Outstanding effort.

Indeed a great shot. The processing of the core maybe a bit odd but the details and colours in the small stars on the periphery is outstanding.

Thank you all for your comments. I like the dark core; it brings some 3D and forces you to look at the edges where there are more details. It could be that the "reality" is that way and the core is darker because it represents the depth of the Lagoon. Whatever reality is, I enjoyed this imaged and I am glad you guys liked it.

Something that called my attention was that the blue colour was captured by the camera and I did not enhanced it. Anybody knows why most of other Lagoons images show only red and the blue is missing?

I, for one, really like the color in the core. In most other renditions on IIS, it's harder to make out the detail in the core and things can look a bit bland.

I've noticed a conservative tendency on IIS that promotes a certain 'sameness' in a great deal of images. Look, I get it - there's a lot of hydrogen in space, but not *everything* in space is made up of chunks of strict red, violet or blue. There's no shame in accentuating (or simply leaving in) color! It can really help a viewer to better interpret an image and bring out detail. Case in point, this particular effort. Sorry, had to get that off my chest.
