Jupiter, 22nd May

Here are two images from this morning, in visible light and ch4.
Transparency was very good but seeing was not so good, contrast on
Jupiter was quite low. The images are interesting, particularly the
chain of small dark storms in the southern SEB.

That looks so strange. I can't get used to Jupiter's appearance with out the belt. Beautiful image bird.

Very nice Bird, most interesting Methane image and interesting detail in the SEB.

Thanks for the comments - Nettie it would be nice if the outbreak and SEB revival started soon... the only other one I have seen was the partial fade and revival in 2007, and that was spectacular. If history repeats then it will start with a very bright outburst not far from the GRS and the spread out...
