Talking Proud of my boy!

Last night, my son Jacob received an award at his schools Presentation Night.

He's 6.5 years old, in Kindergarten (I think the Victorians call it "prep") and received the "Academic" award for his class.

His report card was outstanding, in English and Maths he's completed some of the skills in "S2" which are usual done in years 3 and 4! He's a very intelligent boy. And i'm not half proud! icemanswife and I are very proud of him.

He's reading at "level 25" and above, and has a keen interest in space, geography and how things work.

If he keeps it up at this level he'll be destined for good things!

Here's some pics from last night.

well done mrsiceman, you have succeeded against the odds!!!!!!

raising the children without a fathers influence (ie too much time on the forum)is difficult, but best in the long run.

Congrats to you both, yes these times won't come again, but I am certain that there will be other awards. Let him loose on your scope Mike, or get him to build you a 16"

Doesn't come much better than having kids (or grandkids) to be proud of.

Congratulations to you and Kate and of course young Jacob.
They grow up too quick Mike, so enjoy these precious moments.

Well done.

Precious moments! I know them well.

Congratulations Jacob, you have made your Mum & Dad very proud. They already are proud of you but this is extra special.

Keep up the good work and you might even be an Astronaut and go into Space!

That's lovely Mike, I have a very intelligent (gifted) 7 year old girl, what I am learning is that we as fathers need to make sure though, as much as we want them to learn and excell they still have billy carts, tree houses and grazed knees, there's plenty of time for academia.
