Best illusion of the year - 2010 contest

For those who like illusions ... gravity-defying!
Making it would be rather tricky.

Seeing is believing?

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the post and the video is impressive!

As a forum of observers, it is always nice to have a reminder that all is
not necessarily how we perceive it.

Theres a stretch of road in Scotland that gives this illusion. Called the "Electric Brae". If you stop your car at what is apparently the bottom of a hill and knock it out of gear it appears to roll up. Its created by the landscape around the road.

There is also a road similar to this near Mount Macedon and Hanging Rock (Vic) which does the same thing. I won't divulge the actual road name, but you stop on the road and release your brakes and you roll "up hill". Again an illusion of the surrounding hills.

They are incredible. The third one was fascinating because if you concentrated on the right spot you could make it appear to turn in the opposite direction! And then back in the other direction again.
It was a bit like this action.....
Thanks Rob

On the corner of the Hume Hwy and Henry Lawson Drive in Sydney there is a large optical illusion house, very cool!

It is similar to this: link

Maybe, our Universe is not what it seems as well.
