Meteor smoke trail and time-lapse animation

Hi,

I did a time-lapse at MPAS observing site last night. When I processed the images I noticed a bright meteor and was amazed to see a smoke trail after it. It took about 6 minutes for the smoke to dissipate.

I attached a few images and made a quick video showing the smoke trail dynamics:

Cheers,
Alex

Nice job to catch a meteor arriving. I always catch planes. Not as impressive as yours

Thanks everyone!

It was awesome to see it live and then on the time lapse.
I was testing my new fisheye lens that night and made a 60 second video time lapse (best viewed in HD and in full-screen mode):

That's amazing Alex. The little wisp of smoke is fascinating to watch. Makes one appreciate the term 'burning up in the atmosphere' a little more clearly.
The time lapse was terrific too. Thanks for that.

It does look very different now and the trees got much taller too.
Thanks for sharing the pictures, Dave.
