First First First!

Ok, so it's only Omega, but it's the first from me with a QHY8 Pro from the backyard.

Spent a fair bit of time getting drift aligned, setting the camera up and hopefully, nailing focus.

In total it was 15 x 1 minute exposures of which Images Plus stacked 12.
No darks, but flats and bias frames applied.

Processed in CS3 with very slight crop to get rid of an overscan line at the bottom of the image.

A big thank you to Doug (Hagar) for all your help and guidance!

I'm just so happy to be out there imaging, hard to believe I have to go to work in the morning, but there you go.

Comments / tips / re-processing appreciated.
Will post a high res version later!

Darren

What do you mean ONLY Omega?

From one who knows nothing about astro photography I think it's a BEAUTIFUL first shot.

Great first attempt with the QHY8pro Darren. What capture software did you use?

Good one Darren, Focus and guiding look great. The next big improvement will come with the addition of a flattener to your rig.
This is an excelent first light and should set you up well for some of the more complex targets.
Well done.

I have added one with a bit more colour saturation and the green trimmed back a bit.

This is a link posted by Marc (multiweb) to control the green tint. It is a plugin for Photoshop and works a treat.

Thanks Mike, yes it looks a bit green to me too, but we'll get there!

Yes David, Ed120 with ed80 guidescope, phd and a qhy5 guide camera, all mounted on my sturdy eq6pro.

Thanks Marc, Just happy to post something of late, combination of poor weather and work can really slow down the path I'm on, but I've lost none of the enjoyment of seeing my images come to life on the screen.

Thanks Peter, captured using Nebulosity. I've had to restart the software a couple of times last night as the system became unresponsive, but apart from that, very happy!

Thanks Mark, very happy!

Martin, David and Frank, thanks very much for the kind words, now lets all make the clouds go away so we can keep the progression happening!

Reprocessed with a bit of sleep, a little touch up and the application of a great PS plugin.
