METALLICA - Acer Arena Nov 2010
Just got my 2 tickets on this morning pre-sale. Geez that was painful. Server load was terrible and it's nearly impossible to book anything but individual seats. Got lucky eventually pressing the refresh button like a woodpecker and managed to get two seats together in one booking.

They'd want to be better than their previous trips to Oz. Every Metallica show I've been to has been a bitter, bitter disappointment.

Jethro, you took the words right out of my mouth.
I think I cried the day I heard Enter Sandman on the radio. What a travesty.
Hope the show goes well for you, Marc. Throw a tomato and shoe at Lars for me, will you, please?

Too far mate. I'm on the third balcony and he's a shortass target anyway. Never seen them in Oz. Last concert I saw them was in 86 for 'Master of Puppets'. Prior to that in UK (castle donnington) and 82 or 83 in a small club in Normandy with 200 people. First part was Exodus and Kirk hammet was playing in both bands at the time as "bad dave" had just been told off. Had a couple of beers with them. Top blokes. Cliff burton looked like a hippie. Very down to hearth bunch (at the time). Apparently they play a lot of the old stuff from Kill'em all and ride the lightning (one for Baz ). Agree about the lastest stuff though. They kind of lost me after their third album. Went the Megadeth way afterwards.

Ive gotta agree with you all about the last few albums, although Death Magnetic was a damn sight better than St. Agnes (ie St Anger)... Still going to go see them though...they normally put on a good show...

Good job Marc. I'm going to the Thursday night show, 2nd concert, nice seats first elevation. Really looking forward to it - just like ACDC in February.
Seeing ACDC and Metallica in the same year - must be a great year.

Master of Puppets was the last Metallica album I was able to stomach and ever since their debacle with them and bootlegging (which is ironic as it was bootlegging that got them their initial reputation) I just can't seem to find them interesting.
I heard tickets are pretty pricey as well, $120+...

You're right. 86 is master of puppets not and justice for all. That's the last concert I saw. Anthrax was cover band. Mosh pit man!

Seen them in '91. That was good enough for me.
Debating to see them this time, mainly costs.
I missed AC/DC, so I might try this one. Though, some of your thoughts, reflect mine as well.
I'd be going for their older stuff. I was so dam close to getting in the snake pit in '91

Just went to see if there were tickets in Melbourne, all sold out. Sheesh!
Everywhere is sold out, can't believe it.
Hopefully they announce more shows.
