Moon with 300mm Fluorite
Here is a quick test of the new (old) lens on the Moon.Single frame at F2.8 and 300mm 1/800 sec at ISO 100 and mirror locked up.One full frame and the other 100% crop.Both from JPG and no processing.Just to test the lens.

So far so good have just taken some 1min frames of M42 will post in deep space.

Looks Great Bert, what was the camera used?
better go check your M24 shot in the dso department.
