Some more lightning shots

Hi all,

After Bluescope posted some great lightning shots from WA I thought I'd post a few of mine from SA in Oct last year. I would have loved to be in WA taking those like Bluescope's but wouldn't have wanted to be around to see all the damage they created!

The first 6 images below were taken at Hancocks Lookout near Wilmington, SA in the Flinders Ranges looking South East. Pt Augusta is to the right just out of view. Taken with Nikon D80 and 18-135mm lens. It was a spectacular light show with many bolts hitting the hills in the distance and sea in Spencer Gulf and went on for a few hours.

The last one was taken in Nov 2009 from the Henley jetty, Adelaide. Amazingly it was perfectly framed from left edge to right edge! I haven't cropped it at all!

Some of these photos were featured on the Channel 10 news weather segment too.

Yes I agree. It was amazing watching the storm front move across the gulf that night and the hundreds of bolts I saw. If only we could harness that power... it would save having to use the dirty coal power plant up the road in Pt Augusta!
