M83 - At last some sky in SE Qld

Thought I had better post one as I have been exploiting everyone elses images for my astronomy fix over the last 3 months since we have had any decent sky.

This is a rough and ready M83 pretty well straight out of the ST8300 though the AP130EDT. The core needs reduction and the stars need a little plastic surgery with James Ryans star fixer but what the heck. Hopefully if the sky gods are kind I can fix the core and re-image the stars this weekend.

The link is http://www.leyburnastronomy.net.au/mb_m83.htm
It is about 500k.

Nice image. I was looking at that last night, couldn't see quite as much detail as you have captured

Nice image Mark.

Isn't it great just being out under the stars again.
Here's to more clear skies.

Yeah Nettie - its been a while hasnt it?

Dunno bout the image - i think I can make it ok (helps if you turn your head sidewys and squint - for round stars). After lurking and checking out everyone elses stuff I tought I had better post something but.

Great details in that shot Mark. Have you tried to tone down the core or do a mask as it looks a bit burnt?
