Tutorial "cleaning camera lenses"

Here's a useful video tutorial on how to clean your camera lenses.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/manuelino/4453180876/

I don't necessarily condone this technique.

Hmm, makes me want to switch to Canon. Those Nikon lenses are a bother to clean in comparison…

Cheers
Steffen.

LOL, now I think I might get my Canon 500mm F/4.0 out and give it a good scrubbing.
You know some people would take that seriously.

Now there's an idea Dave.
His lenses are very grotty, have you seen the condition of them??? It might take more than just a sponge to get them clean.

Don't you have a 70-200 L somewhere that needs a bit of a buff to remove the accumulation?

It is a replica of a Canon lens coffee cup!

I want the 400mm F2.8L version as a beer mug!

It is a bit pricey jjjnettie.

Here is a thermos version to go with your cup. I am sure there are others.

Solvol and a plastic scourer will do the job. Only resort to steel wool for very dirty lenses.

Seriously, many people over the years have been shocked when I tell them the right way to clean the mirrors in a newtonian. It can't be that easy can it??

Thanks for reminding me, I meant to ask about this…

Was it Jif for the mirrors and Brillo pads on the meniscus, or the other way around?

Cheers
Steffen.

Paul, did you follow Bert's 2nd link? The thermos version is the 70 - 200 L. Your psychic powers are extraordinary!

I was going to post a spoiler but avandonk beat me to it.

I first became aware of these mugs on the http://www.cameralabs.com/ forum site which I'm a member of.
