22 deg halo over Brisbane, 28/3/10

Hi all,

I noticed this nice halo at about 9:15 this morning. Did anyone else in SE Qld see it? There were hints of a circumzenithal arc as well. Unfortunately the clouds on the horizon in the first image have now completely blocked the view, and it looks like it's about to start raining.

Cheers,
Stephen

Funny you should say that but my son's both saw the same thing couple of days ago while at school in Perth. I was working so didn't see it.

I believe though it is some atmospheric condition that affect seeing as I saw and photgraphed the same thing couple of nights ago with the moon. Although it affected seeing, it was a beautiful effect. I will try to post the image but the camera could not provide the effect reliably so is the reason I did not post it.
