Capernicus in different light

Hi all,

here is Capernicus taken April 2009 and March 2010, with the Sun light comming from opposite directions. It's interesting how different detail stands out with different illumination.

Hey Lester, interesting comparison, hadn't thought about this effect previously and it does provide a different perspective.

Thanks for sharing
Regards
Trevor

Nice one, Lester. I'm an evening astronomer, so don't get a lot of chance to compare evening and morning apparitions.

Hi Trevor and Al, glad you liked them.

Al I am usually only a evening astronomer also. April last year gave me some good views of Jupiter and the Moon in the wee hours.

Good stuff Lester - like Al I am an evening imager. This is why I love the Moon - always changing with shadows!

A lot of difference with the light there Lester ...at one point you could say that Capernicus looks inverted.
Great images.
Cheers Kev.

Thanks Kev. It would be interesting to see many of the Moon features compared with sun light from opposite directions.

One of my favourite craters but note it is Copernicus. I thought your title was simply a typo but your image filename is also spelt with an 'a'.
