Massive Solar Prominence, March 19

There is a massive prominence up there at the moment. This is the biggest one I have seen since I started looking in November.
The full disk image is there to help you get an idea of the scale of this thing.

Thanks for your comments,
I almost did not go out to the obs today. Glad I did now.
I did take another shot twice as close again, but seeying was not that good and it is a bit too soft and did not turn out as well as I would have liked. Still, it looked neat live.

I used the DMK 41 mono. The close up image Is a stack of the best 60 or so frames from 200. Stacked used AVISTack.

Thanks Dave.
It was a lucky capture, I was not planning on going out as it was mostly cloudy. But someone dropped by and wanted to see what the sun looked like trhough the solar scope. When I spotted this prom, I pushed them to the corner of the obs while I tried capturing in between the clouds :-).
