Greetings

Hi all,

I am finally submitting my first post after lurking for a couple of months. This is a great forum with heaps of tips for a new astronomer. I've been viewing through 10x50 binos for the last 12 months while saving for a telescope. Have been leaning towards a 10" dob and from what I've read here my suspicions have been confirmed. It has been great to discover through this forum that Bintel are opening up in Melbourne, which means I'm a little closer yet to that dob. Now to check out the questions in the Christmas comp. Can't pass up a chance to win a Nagler or other astronomy toys while doing a bit of research at the same time.

Cheers

and AstroBug. Glad you decided to come out of the closet and join in the activities.

If you win a nagler I think you'll enjoy it

Hi Brett. You'll love the Dob. 10" is a good size for a first scope. Many of us started with tiny scopes!!

Good to have you on board. Enjoy your stay.

Stay tuned for our get together in March up here near ballarat. Nice dark sky!!!

I'm sure I will. Especially once I get a Telescope to put it in!

Hi Brett!

to the forum! How did you hear about us? And thanks for finally signing up after lurking for so long

Sounds like you're doing the right research and making some sound decisions.. you'll love a 10" dob, it's the same as I have.

Hope to see you back often.

Hi and welome Brett.

Good choice of 'scope too!!!

Imho, a Dob will help you to learn to star-hop, and thereby learning your night sky quickly also. Have fun, and good luck in the comp (although I'm sorry to inform you that I'm going to win the Nagler.)

Cheers
Dave
