Medusa and Leo Triplets C8

Medusa Nebula and Leo Triplet Galaxies from last night

C8 SCT f/6.3
Canon 40D 10x5min subs iso 400

I was trying out some new equipment - a qhy5 attached to a GSO 8x50 finder.

Processed in IP and PixInsight to remove some of the vignetting.

Some camera tilt and reflections around the brighter stars...

Not a lot detail visible from here

Shot in Melbourne - 20 km from the CBD

Find yourself some dark skies and treat yourself.

I shot M65-66 with the my 350d set @ ISO800, 16 x 6min frames the other night nearly 2 hrs of data down the drain as we had a 28C night min here and the noise/LP was overpowering. (I'm 20 odd k sth east of Perth)

Perosnally I'd use a higher ISO and longer subs at least 8 min
