Thumbs down Telstra Rural Rant & Poll

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggg ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Or more precisely: Why is it that Telstra's Wireless Broadband Server for my area (S. Gippsland, Victoria) has been 'down' for going on 2 weeks?
The service was pretty bad to start with (< 1mbps), now its simply non-existent. According to the grotty, ill-tempered little Mumbain to whom I just talked, they are "aware of the situation and technicians are looking into it". Not just B.S., but B.S. ending with a preposition as well!
Its a SERVER!!!!!. Its two chips and a fan! Any competent ten-year-old could fix the thing!

This is about more than logging onto IIS. I depend on telecoms for my livelihood!! Thank god I've got (technically just an eensy-weensy bit illegal and) expensive satellite communications.
For pete's sake Nigeria has better connectivity! I can get 3 megaBYTES ps in a swamp in the middle of no-where. I can play F.E.A.R. quicker in Siberia than Gippsland. Lithuania has faster connectivity and only about six people live there.
When I first visited here in '97 Australia was a world leader in telecommunications. Now its something like No. 138. If as much effort per capita went into kicking Telstra's arse as went into winning Olympic medals, we could communicate with the future by now.

Honestly. Have Australians NO pride in developing superior technology?
Are we all just happy to accept what we're given? It seems very......British.
Those poor blokes from CSIRO got zip public support for their wireless suit, and I sure as hell can't remember the government doing nothing.
Are our telecoms always to be at the mercy of spineless governmet ministers and greedy executives.
If Telstra is allowed to continue as-is, within 5 years we will have been by-passed by countries that depend on re-routing lost airline luggage for their GNP.
No more prevarications. Customer tax dollars paid, and continue to help pay for Telstra. Take it BACK. the shareholders I say! And I'm a Reaganite!
A poll follows and thank you for listening.

I HATE TELSTRA WITH A PASSION !!!!!

I will NEVER (knowingly) use any of their products or services.

I have been arguing with them for 2yrs now over an account that they say is in dept by $800.
I removed ALL of my business from Telstra over a yr ago & they still persisted.

For 2 yrs I have not given in. I have argued my position.
AMAZINGLY last week I received a cheque from Telstra for $69.

So not only were their claims of me owing them $800 incorrect, THEY owed ME money, & they've finally figured that out.......

Only words I can't use here are worth using to describe them.

Perhaps a more appropriate place for your Rant, rather than an astronomy forum would be this option.

Or just do a google search for I Hate Telstra and join in.
