With all the nonsense about the Earth being destroyed by Black Holes, Strangelets, Magnetic Monopoles etc, here is the CERN report to the general public including safety endorsements from various experts in astrophysics, cosmology, general relativity, mathematics, particle physics and risk analysis, including several Nobel Laureates in Physics.
A quick One-Two punch to knock down the arguments.
I hadn't even heard of this one before.

Human capacity for self delusion is astounding - scientists create runaway black holes, earth is the centre of the universe, house prices never go down, homeopathy is medicine, an expanding population is good because the young support the old (can't see any problem there ).............no wonder the Vulcans have stayed away.
I don't buy it! I reckon all those guys are on the payroll anyway and this is all part of a big cover-up. We're headed for a new type of singularity like the Simpson in 3D episode ...
Don't get me started on homeopathy! The fact that people actually believe it has any credence whatsoever explains why people believe that CERN will swallow the universe. Even in my profession (I am a veterinarian) we have numerous "vets" who believe this garbage...supposedly well educated, intelligent people. What the?

ITS A CONSPIRACY! damn govt! contrails, Crystal towers on the moon, flea like aliens running around in NYC..... they are all out to get us. (*shakes head in dismay and laughs*)
It could just be mankinds' over-inflated sense of self to assume that we can actually do something that will destroy the world, just like a hydrogen bomb was meant to ignite the entire atmosphere.
A similar argument can ben advanced against global warming being a real phenomena - mankind assumes they are responsible for the recent variations in climate - hasn't it been varying over the millions of years already (eg. ice ages)?
