Images from my observing trip to the Keck's

Hi All,

Following Barry's recent success with building his website I decided to have a go myself using the same program.

My site is pretty basic but it does give me somewhere to present my astro photography and general astronomy stuff.

When I went to Hawaii to observe with the Keck's I posted some images in various threads here on IIS. I have now presented an album on my website of a selection of those photo's. Each one has a commentary below it and I am sure there are IIS'ers that would be interested in them.

I have attached a link to my site.

Regards
Trevor

Hi Trevor

My first impression of your website is that it looks very slick, especially with the photo of you atop Keck hill as the opening shot! Nice work!

I must say, the “Play Now” button fooled me a little – I mistakenly associated it with your photo and expected a video to launch of you giving us jealous folks a guided tour of those wonderful instruments on top of Mauna Kea!

Cheers

Dennis

PS – where do you find all the time to fit all this in????

Thanks Dennis, actually I did make a DVD of my trip but it is way to large to put on my site. When I was invited to Bendigo for the IYA I used it as part of my presentation.

Have had a bit of time on my hands of late with only 2 imaging nights in the last 18 due to the remnant of cyclone Olga and following that, another deep low pressure trough that extended down from the tropics. At least our rainwater tanks are all full, but it has put a spanner in the works for my Mars project, to animate an entire rotation. If I don't get the final 50 degrees I need before the weekend it will have to wait to the next descent opposition in 2014.

Thanks Jen, I have heaps more images to load when I get some time. One of the reasons I included the PVOL link is that I have about 100 images that have been loaded onto that site.

Thanks Paul, it really is a pretty basic site but it does give me the opportunity to present a body of my work in the one place. When I get more experience at it I reckon I will be able to come up with something a lot better.

Thanks Kev, been thinking about doing this for a long time and this web builder is pretty simple to use, I suppose it's a start.

Thanks Frank, if you go to my PVOL link and look at the Jupiter section I have about 100 images from about April 2009 also have some Saturn images on PVOL.

Nice work Trevor, great to see you set yourself up more of an online presence.

Trying to find time to keep it updated can be a challenge, but if you're able to, it can be very rewarding.

Well done!
