I have somewhat of a feeling of how a set up is like with what I have. While I've "only" got 3 LCD's, I have them arranged almost the same as the 3 directly in front of the guy in the video (one direct on, the other two on either side on an angle), just in landscape mode instead of portrait.
With the help of a utility called UltraMon, I can have Windowed programs across all 3 with a click of a button. If you don't mind the LCD bezel cutting in, Google Earth, Stellarium, WWT, all look fantastic across the 3 monitors. Using Stellarium, it almost feels like your getting a normal human eye FOV as you look at the sky!
What these Google programmers have done is certainly nothing groundbreaking, just making great use of current available technology. Hopefully they'll eventually include it in Google Earth, so I'll have my own private glass elevator (just not as big).
