An overcast day is the best time to take outdoor pics Mike (no glare or blooming with the nice diffuse light).

There they are, my sheep. Well some of them!

Yes, I have a Rugby League field in one of my paddocks. The rich have Tennis Courts, I have a RL field.

Sorry for the quality of the photo, I'm not a good photographer.

I like the first shot - the details in the feathers... the colouration, fraying of tips on the tail + wings etc, the claws etc etc.

Well done!

I may have overdone the unsharp mask a bit.

a couple of shots of my office

Really like the first kookaburra shot. Great detail. If anyone with a reasonable clue is interested, I have a few shots from a recent trip to one of our national parks at http://itshare.org.au/ngarkat/ I am just using a canon a85 (mainly on the auto setting as I tend to have little time to make adjustments). I would love to learn to use the camera properly if anyone has some photography or even photo manipulation hints. There are quite a few pics there of a fire a couple of weeks ago. Things to think about are that they are large uncropped, thumbnailed jpegs, and they on one of my home computers on adsl (so be gentle if you are getting multiples)

cheers

shaun
