Nice detail Martin.
Looks like a field flattener is needed and slight CCD tilt is happening.

Holy cow, youve got some exceptional detail there (even zoomed right in) , focus and guiding is very smick. Shame about colour balance, but for a 1st shot, thats very promising indeed. .......In fact the only thing you need to do, is a bit more time in PS.

Nice going Martin! I'm glad you've had time and skies to get out and give it a go. Don't be too hard on yourself. Its going to take quite a while to get a feel for the ins and outs of CCDs and LRGB as you've said. I was just saying to a friend today (Bender) that I frequently look back at pics from just a year ago taken with my DSLR and think "why did I do it that way?", then realise I had no idea about whatever it was back then (tracking, processing, polar alignment, ISO, exposure times, etc, etc). I'm actually looking forward to all these new challenges though, and the odd nice pic along the way would be a nice sweetner.

You've already got a nice desert there!

Yay!! Colour imaging!!

Good stuff mate.. Needs some colour balance adjustment.. What LPS filter are you using? Either it is throwing the colour balance up the wall or the filters are not really optimized for the sensor, and your weights are out of whack..

Its a start, and you can only go upwards from there!

That is not a bad effort at all. I don't even mind the colour.

Not bad Marty (colour will come) image detail is very similar to the my Eta C (55 minutes total expsoure) taken with the 350d last year through an 80ED (although I did notice some finer tendrils in yours) tracking Ok yet some star elongation in corners, I got this too.

Man this processing is bloody hard to get right
I am using a cheap one bought from Bintel.
The LRGB filters are pretty good and come with the filterwheel (parfocal)
As luck would have it, my HA filter is parfocal too
