Yet another M42

Quite a lot of Photoshopping (Version CS)was needed to create this blend; could do with a repro and a clean up of some of the noise.
Scope: 110mm WO APO
Filter: H alpha
Exposure:8@10sec, 8@30 sec,9@120sec, 8@300sec (Total 63 min)

Note added. Just to see what would happen, I added the H alpha data to an old DSLR shot. It mutes the colour, but does bring out more detail than the original DSLR shot. Comments welcome.

A very good job of resolving the core probably needs a tad more colour

Great work mate! The colour shot looks nice, but I'm a real sucker for black and white Ha images... Beautiful stuff..

There are ways of stopping the colour being muted by adding luminance.. When I get home I'll write it up for you... Its a bit tricky on the phone!

Lovely image Geoff, The Ha certainly adds some detail but used as a luminance channel can make the image a little milky looking. It works well as a red channel addition also.

Very nice.
