We got up at sunrise, packed the van and headed off to Norah Head.
There we picked a nice high spot overlooking the ocean and pitched the Aussie Flag. Set up the BBQ, table and chairs and proceeded to cook bacon and eggs to have on a roll.
It was Joanne's idea. And totally out of character. But sounded like a good thing to do.
After aussie breaky, packed up headed home for traditional lunch with the extended family. As it was my birthday the next day, I got some nice pressies too.
Did some gardening and planted some new vegis, had friends over for a BBQ in the afternoon, enjoyed some nice coldies and the kids planted little Aussie flags around the garden
We were given the day off after rolling up for work, so went home loaded the tinnie up and went fishing. Caught nothing but bull sharks got drowned by the rain, blown away by the wind, drank plenty of beer!!!!

You must have got astro presents as it hasn't stopped being cloudy since.
Spent the day by having breakfast with my wife, son, his wife and our grandaughter, had a picnic in the park at Avoca Beach, then watched cricket over a few ales. Caught up with our daughter and family in Florida USA via webcam also.
Top day overall.
Had a BBQ with family or should I say almost had a BBQ I marinated the lamb and pork chops got the salad ready. Lit up the BBQ put meat on and about 2 mins later ( maybe I should put this in the biggest doh! moment) the gas ran out. So ended up cooking everything inside and watched the cricket.
My Aus Day:- slept in, went up to a park about a mile from home with some camera gear, took shots of the FA-18 s doing their stuff(not the world's best shots-camera malfunctions) could have taken shots from my attic window. Cooked to death out in the sun, went home and watched the cricket on TV in air conditioned splendour. Invited the outlaws over for an Aus Day BBQ-marinated steaks, onion, chinese broccoli and mushrooms and of course a nice salad(ran out of spuds.)As usual, I did ALL the work. For reasons unknown the wife was not hugely keen on having her parents over!?! Had to coax the rabble to eat outside which was way nicer than inside ,which was stinking hot.Finished off watching the rest of the cricket in air conditioned splendour.
Took the kids to a family fun day at Woollongong. The little bloke went on a few rides, met Ronald McDonald and saw some farm animals. I was thoroughly impressed that I did not see one drunken yobbo or troublemaker. Finally had a beer when we got home, and my god it was worth the wait! It was a scorcher, even on the coast. A great day.
