I recently returned from a two and a half week holiday in Tasmania, during which I had a 3 day cruise along the Tasman Peninsula coast on my sister's boat. This stretch of coastline, including Cape Raoul, Cape Pillar and Tasman Island is considered by many to be the best in Australia, and it's certainly the most spectacular that I've seen. It's where the Southern Ocean meets sea cliffs up to 300m high. Here are a few images from the trip.
Certainly is! Australia. What a wonderfully diverse country. I haven't been to Tassie, but the Great Ocean Road, 12 Apostles etc is pretty spectacular too. Definitely need to get to Tassie in the next few years, though.
And here's some shots of the abundant wildlife in the area. The first 2 are fur seals, the next 2 are a pod of dolphins that accompanied the boat for a while (amazing to see!), then there is a shot of a white-capped albatross taking off, and finally two shots of gannets.
WoW!! Thanks Stephen! Those are spectacular! I'm sure you enjoyed every minute of it! Amazing the diversity of rock structure in those cliffs, such asthe banding and pillaring.
Thanks for the comments everyone! I was lucky to have the opportunity to do this trip, and I'm glad you like the images. It certainly is an amazing part of the country!
Great shots Stephen.
I,ll bet these shots go into the safe, must of been a great adventure.
You sure picked a great part of Australia to visit.
Cheers Kev.
