My first shot

Thought I would indulge in a hunch and hold a small digital camera up to my eyepiece. Low and behold, it seems to have worked - kinda. These are two of the better shots.

Next I may try to put the camera on a tripod to hold it steady and set a timer so I don't move it when hitting the fire button.

Cheers,
Af.

Not sure what you mean? They open allright for me.

It is exciting and surprising when you get your first picture.

With a compact camera, a better option (than a tripod) is to get a camera holder, such as the Orion Steadypix - this is a bracket that attaches to the scope and holds your camera over the eyepiece.

And keep on going!

How did you attach them? With the "insert picture" button or the "manage attachments" button (scroll the page down - it is in "additional options").

I think you did the first and it does a popup in my Firefox.

The second opens in another Firefox tab.
