I am sure!!!!
I see who has posted the post, i click on the link and then let my mouth shoot off. If bird had posted this one, i would giggle, but Bird didn't, you did. And just because the image scale is not birds, it did not stop me from getting excited for you!
I can honestly say that I really got a kick out of your picture. It is a mixture of knowing a bit about you, your equipment, your polar alignment problems from the forums etc etc.
If i wanted the "best" i would only look at the hubble images. I prefer not too, as they don't carry any "personality" and therefore are not the "best".
Why do we all still get excited every single time from looking at saturn through a 12mm eyepiece when it is nowhere near as big as bird's images?? Imaging is great, but the bigger picture of astronomy ie the fellowship, learning, educating, sharing etc etc means that your photo is just as good as bird's!!!
Birds images are twice as good now for me having met him and for all the help and encouragement he has given me. Asimov and Ken pictures on the budget equipment were also great.
I will never comment on a pic just for the sake of it.
However for DSO's
I expect you to be giving chris venter a good smacking around the head with some rippa widefields by the end of January!!!!
