Ngc 1512

Hi All,

I managed to take some more luminance for this one to finish it off.

LRGB, 180, 30, 30, 30 minutes.

Usual setup, details on the website

Cheers
Stuart

Matches the Astrophotographer!! I was planning to do some Ha on it to bring out the nebulous regions, I may have to reconsider...

Thanks? Roger, I can't actually see too much colour in it, hence the above comment. That's the problem with those Hubble pics, they give you false expectations.

Yeah, the companion is small, but it also has some interesting detail. I can see what appears to be a jet coming from the galactic centre, but it is apparently a young galaxy made up from the halo of NGC 1512. It is very blue.

Cheers
Stuart

The colour I like is the subtle shades of blue and not quite blue in the galaxy, and the star colour. It helps that you have enough data to make the galaxy nice and smooth.
