owls in the day time

saw strange object flutter in tree at the bottom of the garden ..went to investigate and found these had to take photo ..about hour ago

they generally roost in the same spot or close by , we had a pair where I used to work who sat on the same branch through the day for years.

Nice shot but actually they are Tawney frog mouths , no relation to owls
whats so ever. They are members of the Night-Jar family .

have to blame wife for that I not have time to check, wife called them owls just went along with her findings...... as a good hubbie would, either that or go hungry..........should be in my doh' moments
