Meade SCT LX200GPS 12" UHTC with mount and giant field tripod

12" Meade LX200GPS with UHTC (Ultra-High Transmission Coating) Images are of my actual Scope

For Sale - ($4,750.00) Now $4,500 Pick-up Wollongong NSW

This model is the latest one prior to the “R” and “ACF” optics. The specs are otherwise the same as those detailed on the MEADE or BINTEL(telescopes) site.

The condition is great and the optics are excellent. The mirror lock basically eliminates any mirror flop that is found in some other Schmidt Cassegrains.

The set-up includes :-

a) 12” Meade LX200GPS with UHTC(Ultra-High Transmission Coating)
b) Autostar II GOTO system
c) Meade Giant Field Tripod(can also be used for 14” Meade)
d) Meade Finderscope
e) Meade 2” Diagonal
f) Meade Electronic Focuser
g) Bucks Gears
h) Bobs Knobs collimation knobs

Have the original Meade Packaging for scope but not for Tripod. The scope and Mount weighs around 35kg and the tripod about 25kg. Pick-up only…that way you can see scope.

It looks like a great scope.
how old is the scope
What are the optics like and how good and accurate is the drive mechanism.
Can you do good astro photography without using a wedge.
Can one person comfortably set upthe scope.

Hi Robert, welcome to Ice In Space.

Scope is nearly 7 years old and optics are excellent. Drive mechanism is accurate. Without a wedge any long exposure astrophotography will show field rotation after a minute or so(depending on location of sky imaged). Ican set up the scope on my own but it is certainly easier with assistance. This scope is ideal for a permanent set up or observatory. Also sent you a pm.

cheers,

Dave

Are you still looking for a buyer

Hi Dave,

Is this still for sale. I like the idea of a 10-12" scope. How is using it mobile. From the weights it could get to be a good work out.

Cheers,
Brett.

Still for sale. Prefer not to ship(as per first post) but for serious potential buyers who inspect/check/view the set-up I will personally deliver up to 250km radius if pickup is a problem.

Cheers,

Dave
