Thor's Helmet

I decided it was time to post an image here. This is cropped as it is quite a small object. I used my Tak TOA130F with a modded cooled 40D. 15x10min subs, darks flats and bias.

Nice one. The colours look good and the detail there. Definately flat image with tight starts - but it's slightly soft on focus I think.

Very nice Pete. I think your focus is OK. Paul has probably forgotten this is a crop and makes the stars look a bit on the big side. Looking at the small stars at about 300% zoom they look pretty good.

Youve done well with this little tacker even capturing some of the fine detail colour.
Well done.

Yeah Doug, used Bahtinov grabber and was within a 0.018 of a pixel, reckon that is pretty close. Thanks for the nice comments people.

Peter, fair enough on the mask. So did you use any unsharp masking? Or noise reduction post processing? If it's not focus then it might just be post processing that makes it look a tad soft to me - cropped or not. The image is very very good regardless and it's probably just me and my old laptop

Paul, only minimal processing, as you know when you crop an image it tends to look a tad soft, as in essence it is magnified. According to Bahtinov Graber, I was spot on with focus, not sure if you have used it, but it makes the bahtinov mask even better, well I reckon it does anyway.

Great piccy, Peter! Focus looks ok to me, too!
Bahtinov Grabber eihter crashes or crashes my machine, depends on how it feels. Just won't run for me.
Well done!
