Reprocessed M20

Hi Guys.

I am bored...no scope and no weather to do any imaging.
So I am playing around with Images Plus 2.5.....I still have heaps to learn and have just applied some curves using the very user friendly curves menu and application.

In this image all I wanted was to bring out the blue reflective nebula more so then before...here is the result.

I just worked of the original Jpeg as picture 1....I have not got the jist to raws yet.

Hi Tony

A definite improvement. ImagePlus 2.5 is definitely worth playing with. There is lots that it can do and it is well worth the effort to learn to shoot in RAW. I thoroughly recommend it. If you need help, just yell.

Cheers

I'm yelling Tony...when are you coming to Brisbane next....lol

Weather is fine up here if you don't mind clouds and hail storms every night.

We definitely need a DSLR processing night at the next star camp....would love to see an experienced person do some processing.

You never know. Perhaps we can arrange something like that at the Lostock SP in January.

Cheers

Striker - that really is a beautiful image and I'm constantly amazed at what can be brought out with a little re-processing. I'm assuming that was taken well away from Brisbane lights?

cheers,

Robert it was taken at my house at Tingalpa Brisbane....the only shots I have taken away from home are some widefield shots piggy back on a EQ5.

This image was 30 x 30 seconds unguided exposures with 6.3 FR at ISO 1600 FL approx 1900mm...taken with the canon 20DA on my C11.

It's probably my favourite in my very short astrophotography carrier so far..

well, you have suceeded in bringing out the blue, well done.

The leap forward us planeteers got from bird was fantastic, so any tutorial on a projector screen from a laptop with imageplus or photoshop in front of a few blokes is well worth it.

I would be so bold and say that it should be a prerequisite at any star camp. It is a great way for beginners to leap forward.

Your work still sticks in my mind when i joined up and we all had a go at processing your work. I still remember it as a defining moment for me. THANKS

Very nice sir! They both do it for me, but the one on the right has the edge.

Ok Tony, let us know how you go, they're due for shipment any day'ish now - I've been tossing up recently about getting eq6+80ED+SACx for some DSO/comet work...still thinking it through.

The little fella is doing great, bonding in the "Boy's Room" results in him constantly eyeing off my LX, which is a great sign He's nearly 10 weeks now (gee it goes fast!!)
