A quick and very dirty m42.
Just 35 minutes of data.
7 x 5min @ iso 400.

whats this showing the trapezium clearly bit!! - -come on - you have to blow it out so it is burnt out - i can hardly recognise the image

Great result. Pretty flat with tight stars. did you take falts and did you take darks?

You know, I could have borrowed my friends light box too. Forgot all about it.
But yes, I took darks. Also took a handful of 30 sec subs with darks for the trap.
I played around a lot with the layering on this one. Using an unstretched copy of the main image to boost the trap image. It really helped to blend the trap in more naturally.

Gosh - fantastic images are becoming routine 'round Kilcoy way!!
Nice colour balance Jeanette, and tantalising glimses of brown dust even becoming visible in there between M43 and the Running Man. Very nice.

JJJ,

Looks great. Is there some easy way you could head me in the right direction for layering as I would like to have a crack at this myself. Focus looks spot on as does tracking.
