My first Lightning shot

Hi all!

Nothing special to see here, just some lightning.
This was the first decent storm, to come over Sydney since I got my DSLR.

Didn't bother trying out my lightning trigger, as I wanted to get a shot.

I didn't think I got anything, but the camera caught this whilst I was inside. Just running 30sec frames continuously.

I was happy with this as my first ever shot.

Thanks for looking.

Loverly. I'm always too comfortable indoors to go out and shoot lightning. Must try it some time.

Thanks heaps! My backyard has high trees, so no strikes could be captured. I got this shot then jumped in the car to try and shoot the storm over Sydney city from a high point, but the storm passed.

Thankyou very much! I hope my technique has improved for the next chance. Hopefully next time I will be game enough to try my homebuilt trigger. It is just too easy running 30sec frames non stop.

Me too! fortunatley my eaves are about two and a half foot, so I just set the camera up and walked away. Though it was terribly hot in Sydney that day, so the cool storm was pleasant to be out in.
