Question on CCD Stack

I've downloaded a trial version but will CCD Stack stack RAW files or must they be converted to FIT first

umm, the implication there is you are attempting to use DSLR images with CCD stack. I think youll have to convert to FIT or TIFF 1st, but I wouldnt bother IMO. Images plus is the go for DSLR RAWs, its made for DSLRs, youll find CCd stack very awkward and slow for monster DSLR subs..

I agree with Fred. IP is the go for DSLR and CCD stack is good for mono and colour CCD images.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to hijack the thread I have just started getting into imaging and have decided to take multiple shots at different exposures. For example 5sec, 10sec, 20sec, 30sec, 1min, 2min, 4min, 8min + Dark frames all @ ISO 800.

Do I then use Image plus for stacking them and photoshop afterwards for adjusting color curves?

Sorry totally new to this.

Regards

Yugant,

You can use a multitude of image processing software.

But, yes, you're right. You use software to stack/combine them, and then Photoshop to salt-and-pepper to taste.

IRIS is free and does absolutely everything.

Humayun
