The Panda's Thumb

Adelaide has gone a bit Panda crazy lately as we have two visitors
staying at our zoo and the town is buzzing a bit over it.

This made me revisit one of my many favourite blogsites, The Panda's
Thumb
, which is a very interesting scientific integrity blog devoted to
evolution and related topics.

It also made me revisit this site which gives a fascinating explanation to
the site's namesake: The Panda's opposable 'thumb'.
This story is an interesting quirk about the workings of evolution.

'The Panda's Thumb' is also the title of the first Stephen J. Gould book I read. Years later Gould said that he wished the earth would open and swallow every copy of it but, hey, it impressed me.
