Which Barlow with Toucam & Mars

Hi folks..Mars opposition coming up soon and I wanted to image Mars thru my C8 (...and maybe my ED80) with a Philips SPC900NC.

I will be doing this at prime focus. I currently have a 2X Televue 1.25" Barlow...but...am wanting to make the largest usable image I can take.

Is it sensible to try a 3X Televue Barlow?
Should I be looking at powermates? Given the one I would probably choose would the 2.5X 1.25" version as there is no 3X version?
Should I go to 2" powermates? Given their range is 2X or 4X?
Or...should I stick to the current 2X Barlow?

Obviously a 3X Barlow & powermates above 2X (either 1.25" or 2") are limited in their uses. Especially with a C8 at F10 plus!

But what I'm really asking is what would be the most usable Barlow/Powermate for planetary that I can use now & will use in the future.

Has anyone had experiences using the higher power Barlows/Powermates for planetary! I'd love to hear your experiences.
